On September 17, 2011, 36 Pilots N Paws pilots and planes along with 35 animal rescue organizations and hundreds of volunteers came together to transport 175 animals out of S.C. shelters. The flights were in honor of the "Chesterfield 22", 22 dogs from the Chester County SC shelter who were shot and killed rather then being sent to rescue groups or adopted to families who would love them.
